Details and Specifications

This brainchild of Bill Ruger hails from the enduring designs of John C. Garand, and is one of the most popular utility rifles ever produced in the USA.  Now you can upgrade yours to a scout format that will accept the latest technology available in modern sight systems, lasers, tactical flashlights, etc.

FOUR MODELS are available that cover almost every version of Mini-14 ever made.

The ORIGINAL Mini-Scout-Mount™14 fits every serial number range manufactured prior to 2007 (before the 580 Series), including Ranch Rifles and AC556. These are available in Flat Black and Stainless Finish (Clear) anodized.  There is even one for the early GB Side-Folding stock with the forward sling swivel mounted on the side of the gas block.

The NEW Mini-Scout-Mount™III will fit all three caliber versions of the 580 and up series (.223, 6.8spc, and 7.62x39) with the heavier “flanged” barrel.  It will also fit the Target Models with barrel tuners. It is also available in Flat Black and Stainless Finish (Clear) anodized.

Suggested Accessories for Ruger® Mini 14

When combined with our Tactical Light Mount Kit ™ it is your BEST solution for attaching a flashlight or laser sight to your Mini. Add a pistol scope or red-dot sight and you have one of the fastest handling scout carbines ever assembled!

Our Tactical Light Mount Kits will fit ALL models of Mini-Scout-Mount.  On the shorter models (Mini-14, M1-Carbine), the LONG Tactical Light Mount Kit can still be installed, but will extend past the front of the mount.

FAQs for Original Mini 14 (pre-580 series) Mount

(Scroll down for New RUGER® Mini-14/6.8/30 Series 580 and higher.)

A: If the prefix or first three digits of the serial number are lower than 580, you need an Original style mount. If 580 or higher, you need the New Model. See the photos for "ID your model".

A: YES. You should see an average group size reduction with any type of ammunition used.

The design of the barrel clamp for the Mini-14 model of our Mini-Scout-Mount is based on the Weaver style scope ring with a V-block.

The clamp has a hook on one side that fits into a recess in the mount body.  When the two screws on the flange side of the clamp are tightened, it cinches the barrel down with tremendous force and secures it from movement, just like a Weaver scope ring works.

There is a V-block machined into the underside of the mount body where the barrel rests.  This V-block centers the mount body directly over the center of the rifle barrel.  When the barrel clamp is secured, the rifle barrel cannot move out of this V-block.

Securing this barrel clamp and V-block assembly serves to stiffen the entier rifle barrel, resulting in greatly improved accuracy for most Mini-14's.
